By now, it should be clear that COVID-19 has affected businesses worldwide. The global economy has been affected and small to medium sized businesses are really suffering. Beauty salons, retail shops, gyms, and fitness centers are closing down. Business owners are struggling with cash flow issues and have no idea what to do next as most of their walk-in customers stay home. Customers are not allowed to go out due to quarantine in respective countries and some businesses are forced to shut down due to preventive measures set by the government.

You can now agree that it is a challenging period, not just for business owners but for everyone. That’s why I want to help as many people as I can. I am a digital marketing expert who has helped several businesses during these tough times. I managed to help the businesses shift from offline to online completely through webinars and zoom appointments, driving traffic to their portals using Facebook Ads and other means.

I started out when I was only 17 and right now am an entrepreneur setting up my very own advertising agency to help out businesses during this tough period. Today I’d like to share with you what I’m encouraging my clients to do:

1. Make use of Advertising Portals like Facebook Ads

Right now there are more users on Facebook than even before COVID-19 because they are stuck at home. Some see this as a trend while some see this as an opportunity to enter as an advertiser.

If you are a business owner who has not leveraged the power of Facebook Ads, I really would encourage you to do so because this will allow you to get the reach that you want and help you to get more sales even during the tough times.

I’ve used the Facebook advertising platform to reach out to at least 1 million users during the quarantine period, generating at least 6-figure results in the process. If I can do it, so can you!  If you want to help your audience without spending for Facebook Ads, I suggest you to use RecurPost which is the best buffer alternatives.

2. Resonate and Empathize With Your Audience (Especially when times are tough)

Everyone is going through tough times now and it’s not easy for everyone. I would like to suggest that you be more generous and give out offers that could help someone. For example if you are an F&B outlet, give out more promotions for those who are going through rough times now like seniors. This will help you gain more awareness in the market.

One of the reasons why this will help you more is because you are able to get the correct target audience. If you are running a fitness business and you target people who are struggling to get fit at home and empower them with the idea that they can get fit at home, they will resonate with your message. By doing so, you are able to build a connection and eventually build a thriving community by having connections with several people with similar interest.

Make use of this period of time to connect with those in need of help and you may emerge stronger than before. Look at how technologies evolved since the 2008 crisis, at that period of time Facebook only had 100 million users. Facebook now has at least 1 billion users.

This current crisis will allow a shift in technology – a simple example is how everyone is going on Zoom and this has changed how people communicate. Instead of working from the office, they are now doing tele-commuting.

“You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.” – Dale Carnegie

3. Use This Opportunity To Upgrade Yourself

If you are stuck at home because the government has told you that you cannot go out or operate your business due to quarantine, this is the best time for you to upgrade yourself and learn a new skill set. It will help you to gain a new perspective which may allow you to come out stronger and better after COVID-19.

What are some of the ways you can upgrade yourself? You can pick up a book regarding the topic that you have always wanted to master, say for example Marketing. I would recommend books like Russell Brunson Dot Com Secret for a start, as it’s one of the easiest ways for you to understand the world of Internet Marketing from there.

Another way you can upgrade yourself is by diving deep into platforms like Udemy where knowledge is abundant. You can learn about coding, gardening, or any new knowledge with a click of a button online!

Quarantine isn’t so bad. You have the access to the internet where it’s transparent and you can learn just about anything online. Almost everyone has this chance right now so make full use of this opportunity and become a master of your subject!
