I love the first 2 quotes which essentially say that what you don’t deal with will show up in your life in one form or another and that the times in your life in which you struggled the most were the most beautiful. I am not sure exactly what Freud was trying to convey in these quotes, but to my understanding, he was saying that trauma and heartbreak never leave you and unless you deal with them consciously, they will show up unconsciously and manifest itself in unhealthy behaviors and attitudes. I also feel that he was explaining that the times in your life in which you struggled the most were times in which you learned a lot about yourself, were introduced to another part of yourself, and discovered a lot about life in general. At least, that’s how I feel about adversity. Great article! I love all of these quotes.
