11 Ways To Fast Track Your Success And Achieve Your Big Goals Sooner

Published

on

Have you ever wanted to fast track your success and achieve your big goals sooner?

I’m sure we have all wanted to do this at one time or another. The challenge is that life can get in the way, and other people’s priorities become our own. Unless you focus on what’s important to you first, you’ll get lost in a web of things that have no significance in your life.

The second part of fast tracking your success is that your big goals are hard to achieve, so it becomes easier to spend your time on the little things that ultimately don’t make you feel fulfilled.

“It’s time to go even bigger than before and stop looking for the easy way out”

The 11 ways to fast track your success are:

1. Set bigger goals

The quickest way to fast tack your success is to set bigger goals. If you feel like you are nowhere near where you want to be then it’s probably because your goals are just too small.

If you have committed to losing 2kg, then make it 10kg. If you have given yourself six months to leave your job, then make it three months.

The bigger your goals, the bigger the rewards are for achieving them. Small goals won’t get you out of bed in the morning; big goals will.

2. Be even bolder

However you have currently played the game of success until now, you need to be even bolder if you want to fast track your success. The speed of your success will only increase when you make bolder decisions that require guts and determination.

When you start to become bolder, you give more of yourself, and your true personality starts to shine. Forget about what people think and do a few bold acts every week. Then, go to your laptop, turn it on, open your email account, and send me a thank you note for getting your ass into action!

3. Do the most fearful task first

Boy oh boy, it’s tough to break through fear, isn’t it? That’s why you have to face your fears even sooner than you thought.

We all talk about fear and how we will conquer it tomorrow when we’re ready and have had some comfort food to prepare us for the pain. Fear is going to cause you lot’s of pain because you are going to fall over on your ass plenty of times.

What will fast track your success is when you can fall on your face (not your ass) and still get back up with a smile. That’s what you need to do!

“Every successful person you admire has slept in the same bed as fear and knows their friend fear intimately” – Tim Denning

4. Read more autobiographies

Increasing the speed of your success becomes possible when you surround yourself with people who are achieving success already. Now, if you don’t live in the Hollywood Hills then chances are your next door neighbor is not Johnny Deep. Just because you don’t live in Hollywood, doesn’t mean you can’t be surrounded by global superstars.

Fire up your Kindle app, and download books by Michael Jordan, Andre Agassi, Oprah Winfrey, Ariana Huffington, Warren Buffet, etc. These cats will give you all the strategies you need. Aim to read one book like this a week and you’ll get to where you want to go much quicker. Make it two books a week if you’re an over-achiever (this should be everyone reading Addicted2Success).

5. Build a team rather than go it alone

Don’t fall for the delusion that you can do it all yourself. If you attend any business seminar they will tell you pretty quickly that the problem with your business is you. The problem with your business is there is no team to take the heavy load off you.

If you want to fast track your success then you need a team around you. I know what you’re thinking, Tim I can’t afford to hire people! You have got to be more creative than that guys! Hire an intern, use a freelancer, trade services with someone, start a Facebook group and hire your raving fans, just do something!

6. Refocus your time

I’m not sure about everyone else, but I can get lost on my iPhone apps for freakin hours man! Our attention has become like a ping-pong ball and app developers, and advertisers love it. They always wanted our attention, and now they have the ultimate Jedi mind tricks to get it.

That’s why you have to be ten times more disciplined and refocus your time. Start looking at how much time you waste on useless crap that doesn’t give you the speed of success you’re looking for. Take back your life and start time blocking important tasks.

Once you get your time back, you’ll begin getting the level of results you want at a much faster pace.

7. Create content that serves a purpose

What the heck has creating content got to do with fast tracking your success? Everything. We’ve said on Addicted2Success continually that your success is about what you have to give. Entrepreneurship is not about you!

Whatever your passion is and whatever big goals you are chasing, you must be giving content away. It’s the simplest form of giving, and it’s what will add people to your mission. Remember what I said before? You can’t do this whole success thing alone!

As you build a small audience you can then single out the raving fans, approach them via email, and get them to become a part of your vision. On your own you’ll struggle, with a team of three people, you’ll triple your speed of success. This is basic maths guys!

8. Dedicate yourself to one social media platform

I just told you that you need to create free content because that’s how you can give something to the world. Your distribution channel for content is social media. Here’s where everyone stuffs it up though; we all try to be on every platform 24/7.

This strategy will guarantee you of failure. To fast track your success you’ll need to focus on one platform for at least 12 months. This website is proof of that. Addicted2Success was built 100% on Twitter and no other platform to begin with.

Imagine if Joel Brown and his one-man band at the time tried to be on every platform; he would have given up, and you wouldn’t be reading the words I am typing.

9. Make your bed as soon as you wake up

This post already sounds like a mad rant and this point must seem left of field – it’s not. To fast track your success you are going to need to make your mind think you are making progress. Making your bed first thing in the morning helps give you your first win of the day.

All your friends probably don’t bother to make their bed first thing, and that’s why their days spiral out of control so quickly.

10. Do five minutes of a new habit you want to create

Success is built on habits. Fast tracking your success starts with creating new habits that become the building blocks for where you want to go. Don’t make all of this success stuff rocket science. Pick a new habit, start today, and do it for five minutes.

Do not do this new habit for even a second more than five minutes otherwise, you will ruin the habit and not stick at it. After say 2-4 weeks, then consider increasing the time you spend on this new habit. If you’re like me and struggle with even five minutes, try two minutes.

Do two minutes of your new habit every day and you’ll feel like Rocky Balboa. These are the Jedi mind tricks everyone to fast track your success!

11. Simplify everything

Whatever you’re currently doing, it’s too complicated. That’s the harsh truth.

Stop over complicating everything and remove 70% of the skills you think you need. Our lives are over complicated by people that benefit from the over complication. If everything was shown as being simple then there would be no barrier to entry.

Professionals love overcomplicating things so that you will hopefully pay them to take care of these tasks for you. Go against the grain and start simplifying everything you do. Then, share this information with other people and watch your level of success increase ten fold.

Bridging the gap between employees and employers

In workplaces around the world, there’s a growing gap between employers and employees and between superiors and their teams. It’s a common refrain: “People don’t leave companies, they leave bad bosses.”

While there are, of course, cases where management could do better, this isn’t just a “bad boss” problem. The relationship between leaders and employees is complex. Instead of assigning blame, we should explore practical solutions to build stronger, healthier workplaces where everyone thrives.

Why This Gap Exists

Every workplace needs someone to guide, supervise, and provide feedback. That’s essential for productivity and performance. But because there are usually far more employees than managers, dissatisfaction, fair or not, spreads quickly.

What if, instead of focusing on blame, we focused on building trust, empathy, and communication? This is where modern leadership and human-centered management can make a difference.

Tools and Techniques to Bridge the Gap

Here are proven strategies leaders and employees can use to foster stronger relationships and create a workplace where people actually want to stay.

1. Practice Mutual Empathy

Both managers and employees need to recognize they are ultimately on the same team. Leaders have to balance people and performance, and often face intense pressure to hit targets. Employees who understand this reality are more likely to cooperate and problem-solve collaboratively.

2. Maintain Professional Boundaries

Superiors should separate personal issues from professional decision-making. Consistency, fairness, and integrity build trust, and trust is the foundation of a motivated team.

3. Follow the Golden Rule

Treat people how you would like to be treated. This simple principle encourages compassion and respect, two qualities every effective leader must demonstrate.

4. Avoid Micromanagement

Micromanaging stifles creativity and damages morale. Great leaders see themselves as partners, not just bosses, and treat their teams as collaborators working toward a shared goal.

5. Empower Employees to Grow

Empowerment means giving employees responsibility that matches their capacity, and then trusting them to deliver. Encourage them to take calculated risks, learn from mistakes, and problem-solve independently. If something goes wrong, turn it into a learning opportunity, not a reprimand.

6. Communicate in All Directions

Communication shouldn’t just be top-down. Invite feedback, create open channels for suggestions, and genuinely listen to what your people have to say. Healthy upward communication closes gaps before they become conflicts.

7. Overcome Insecurities

Many leaders secretly fear being outshone by younger, more tech-savvy employees. Instead of resisting, embrace the chance to learn from them. Humility earns respect and helps the team innovate faster.

8. Invest in Coaching and Mentorship

True leaders grow other leaders. Provide mentorship, career guidance, and stretch opportunities so employees can develop new skills. Leadership is learned through experience, but guided experience is even more powerful.

9. Eliminate Favoritism

Avoid cliques and office politics. Decisions should be based on facts and fairness, not gossip. Objective, transparent decision-making builds credibility.

10. Recognize Efforts Promptly

Recognition often matters more than rewards. Publicly appreciate employees’ contributions and do so consistently and fairly. A timely “thank you” can be more motivating than a quarterly bonus.

11. Conduct Thoughtful Exit Interviews

When employees leave, treat it as an opportunity to learn. Keep interviews confidential and use the insights to improve management practices and culture.

12. Provide Leadership Development

Train managers to lead, not just supervise. Leadership development programs help shift mindsets from “command and control” to “coach and empower.” This transformation has a direct impact on morale and retention.

13. Adopt Soft Leadership Principles

Today’s workforce, largely millennials and Gen Z, value collaboration over hierarchy. Soft leadership focuses on partnership, mutual respect, and shared purpose, rather than rigid top-down control.

The Bigger Picture: HR’s Role

Mercer’s global research highlights five key priorities for organizations:

  • Build diverse talent pipelines

  • Embrace flexible work models

  • Design compelling career paths

  • Simplify HR processes

  • Redefine the value HR brings

The challenge? Employers and employees often view these priorities differently. Bridging that perception gap is just as important as bridging the relational gap between leaders and staff.

Treat Employees Like Associates, Not Just Staff

When you treat employees like partners, they bring their best selves to work. HR leaders must develop strategies to keep talent engaged, empowered, and prepared for the future.

Organizational success starts with people, always. Build the relationship with your team first, and the results will follow.
