Real success is the struggle, pain, overcoming fears and obstacles throughout life. Stories of those who have it far worse tell us that the body, both physically and mentally, can be taken to great depths. This hits home and we begin to believe amazing things can happen if you don’t give up. The reality and sad truth is we, at some point, give up because our belief systems have diminished for some reason as we embark on our journey.
How do you impulsively develop the never give up attitude? One word that personifies a never give up attitude is responsibility. I am the one responsible for creating the reality that I visualized in my thought processes. If I truly want it, then I must get up because it is now or never.
Here are 10 things that will happen when you adopt a never give up attitude:
1. Elimination of fear
Defining moments like a graduation, job, marriage, house, relationships, failures, and pain are daunting moments. Our conscious mind dwells on living up to expectations that society pushes on us. A never give up attitude can be used to quash doubts that you once had and become more confrontational with your fears as opposed to backing off. The attitude itself helps you initiate the battle that you’ve been wanting to win all your life. “Just a tiny drop of doubt can poison an entire well of faith.”
2. Doors of creativity and an unlimited feeling
We live in a society that has deep-rooted in us with a timeline that things have to be done this way or must be achieved by this age. The problem with this way of thinking is that it creates a mindset of scarcity instead of abundance; “why isn’t anything happening.” A never give up attitude pushes us beyond our limits to explore different methods thus opening the doors of creativity.
Creativity is like when you open the windows and the fresh breeze of air hits you. This helps you see life in a fresh new perspective, therefore the mind becomes focused on the unlimited rather than the limited. Many great minds try things that are not of the norm, which gave them this endless feeling.
3. Burning desire stays lit
“Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire, which transcends everything.” famously said by Napoleon Hill. A highlight of the current generation is that there is a lack of motivation. However, with the right push and the right mentality the burning desire can stay lit constantly. The words I always hear are “I don’t feel motivated” – the truth is if you want it bad enough you would stop at nothing. The message here is keep moving and stay busy, any little thing you do can amount to something big at the end of your journey.
4. Going where many don’t dare to go
A never give up attitude has taught me to work hard on all levels; physical health, well-being, work, sports and hobbies. This in turn gave me a greater output of results. Whenever I say “I will never give up”, I dare myself to take risks that nobody else dares to and within that process you can reap massive rewards. Whilst others are laid back and choose to do nothing, there you are with your spirited and hungry attitude to pounce on every opportunity.

5. You become the lion with a relentless work ethic
Think about what sets apart the top dogs within their specialties from the rest. It is in fact a mere willingness to do anything for success. Are you that type, the one that will stand their ground, ready to fight for your dream or are you the sheep just like everyone else? Never giving up allows you to develop and think of new strategies because there is always a way. Whether you must stay up all night, stay late at work, or miss your friends party, this is what the serious ones will do.
6. Improve the world
When you achieve whatever you set out to achieve, you can use your success to make a difference to the world or other people’s lives. Slowly as you achieve your goals there is the feeling of wanting more. You transfer your mindset and life skills to people who are far worse than you. Inside, you feel complete and you want to pass the never give up mentality to those who are going through what you have already embarked on your journey. Purpose and your big “why I am here” are answered.
7. Believe that anything is possible
When you refuse to give up you are more likely to source energy to jump that hurdle that you’ve been meaning to overcome. The measure of success comes downs to winning the battle between the perception of that it is impossible to achieve and the willingness to get out of your comfort zone. The only way is to never give up. Ask yourself what if I kept going rather than just give up… can the outcome be different?
8. Emotional intelligence
The capacity to be aware of, control, and express one’s emotions is key to handling if things don’t work out. Just because you never give up does not mean you will achieve 100% all the time. Right now, there are many people who are in a worse situation and environment than you are right now. It is ok to lose sometimes. You can’t win all the time but at least you can control the damage and embrace that learning is all part of the process.

9. Not quitting becomes the only option
My teacher always used to say to us as students “prepare for failure”. He said in life you must always be ready and be prepared for anything. If you remain in a state of always being alert to danger, chances are you will avoid making mistakes. The more you stay hungry or have this feeling that you have something to lose, the harder you fight for your dreams. On the contrary, if you give up at the first sign of struggle, then you are not ready to be successful.
10. You grow stronger
I must do this for me and keep going to become better as a whole. In doing so, you learn so much about yourself by evoking personal reflection. When the physical state and mental state are pushed in positive ways they become synchronized like a harmonious melody. Following this, the gates of the soul open to true growth and freedom.
Even when the body has suffered, the blood, sweat and tears have worn you down, the mind still lives and that never dies. Therein is the epitome of the human mind; a mind so great and mysterious that it is able to achieve anything. It can endure unknown situations which give you that drowning and suffocating feeling.
Whether you’re reading this at 2am in the morning or in the evening, the never give up mentality is being awakened, telling you to carry on. The complexity of life both the economic and social hardships in which we currently live in makes it easy to get carried away by the feeling of defeat. Like they say, you can get back up so never ever succumb to defeat because in this world you are not allowed to give up. Take a deep breath and don’t you dare give up.
