Statistics say that 80% of people hate the career they are in.

Scott Dinsmore has devoted years of his life interviewing 1000’s of employees and entrepreneurs from 158 countries to find out why a majority of us settle for a career we are not happy with and how we are able to position ourselves to pursue our passion.

Checkout Scott’s TED talk to discover how you can find and do the work you love.

Scott Dinsmore – How To Find And Do Work You Love

“There’s two reasons why people don’t do things, one is because they tell themselves that they can’t do them, and the other is that people around them tell them they can’t do it. Either way we start to believe it. Either we give up or we never start in the first place. The thing is, that everything was impossible until somebody did it.” – Scott Dinsmore

It’s a great video, but there is one thing that I don’t agree with, and that is focusing on your strengths. Your strengths and weaknesses are not set in stone. Besides, doing something that’s a strength of yours will feel good, but you won’t feel completely fulfilled unless you do something that keeps you constantly working to improve.

If the purpose is to be fulfilled then you have to constantly be stepping out of your comfort zone – and that includes making your strengths even stronger or turning your weaknesses into strengths.

“What we think is impossible is often just milestones waiting to be accomplished.” – this is so true. You have to keep expanding and keep stepping out of your comfort zone in order to accomplish the impossible.

Wow, good stuff! I think living from your passion is the key to success in all areas of life. Why settle for ordinary when you can do something that sets your life on fire? I wrote about something similar on my own blog just last week where I shared crazy stories of people profiting from their passions.

Quitting is a bad habit and one that is taught and learned. As parents, we have way more control over this than we think, or even want to take responsibility for. Our children emulate what they see. If you bounce from job to job, or hobby to hobby, your child is more likely to do the same. (more…)
