The world of iPhone, Android and iPad apps today is an extremely competitive one. With 1000′s of applications available, how do you set your app apart from the rest?

The following is a summary of the 10 things every top-selling iPhone, Android & iPad app needs to be successful.

10 Features Of A Top Selling Smart Phone App

It Needs Superior Performance

Probably the most important factor in having a top-selling app is the performance. Developers must take ample time testing and retesting the app for problems that arise before putting it out on the market. Under no circumstances should an app be put out on the market with performance problems. An app that works great and uses very little battery and cpu power is sure to shine.

Checkout uTest.com for a community of experts who can test your app and send improvement ideas your way.

You Need A Creative Marketing Plan

Once your well-tested app is developed, you must create a unique yet effective marketing plan. Become well versed on what your top competitors have in common and use this to your advantage to create a plan that separates you from the rest. The use of advertising and technology can work hand in hand to create the proper amount of buzz.

Don’t forget about tried and true measures such as press releases. You may also want to fire up a Twitter, Facebook & LinkedIn Account and start following people in your targeted audience.

Your App Must Be Compatible

In order to have a top-selling app you must create an application that is completely compatible with the platform that it is developed for. Being sure to tailor the features and characteristics for each specific platform will help make users comfortable in using your app, thus increasing your popularity and sales.

You Must Have SEO and ASO Optimization

You cannot underestimate the importance of SEO and ASO optimization. Over half of downloads for apps come from individuals performing a keyword search. Be thoughtful in your app store description and use quality images in order to achieve top store rankings. Don’t forget to optimize your keywords for use on search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing.

Your App Must Have A Fast Loading Time

In a society of fast is better, app users do not want to wait for an application to load. When developing your app, aim for under 5 seconds of loading time. This will keep users engaged and avoid complaints of long wait times.

You Must Integrate Social Media

There are millions of social media users at any given time. This gives you direct access to these individuals that can help get the word out about your app, but make sure and have a strategy in place. Be sure to utilize the four main social media giants and network with review sites that can provide critical advice on what works and what doesn’t. In addition, blogs can be the catalysis to get the word out about your app.

No Freezing or Crashing Of Your App

It is very important that when developing a top-selling app that all of the kinks are worked out. An app that freezes or crashes is sure to be on the bottom of the list for buyers.

If your application is complicated, creating a second thread for your app to run on may be a solution. In addition, making sure the platform is compatible will help to alleviate problems such as freezing.

Release A Free Trial Version To Begin With

When searching for apps to download, most people gravitate towards the free versions. Having a free trial version of your app can drive users to buy the full version with in app purchasing. It is also important to set a competitive price for your app once users are ready to buy.

Keep Your App ‘Ad Free’

This may be controversial because ads do have their place and they allow developers to make extra money. However, an app that is constantly interrupted with ads and banners is not going to rank high on the list for users.

It is best to create a quality paid app that has very little interrupting ads.

Your App Needs A Usability Factor

Top selling apps should add some sort of value to the user. Creating a unique and usable app helps to set you apart from the thousands of other apps.

Designing an app that helps with a task or provides guidance for something sells well and requires repeated usage.

Having a top-selling Iphone or Ipad app is not easy. It is possible however with the right steps taken and the right amount of planning to attain a top-selling app. Be diligent, be creative and develop a quality app that users will need and want.

Entrepreneurs know that change is the only constant in life. If they want to stay relevant and profitable, they should always keep their eyes peeled for the hottest business opportunities in the market.

Ongoing trends in the world influence consumer demand, so being aware of them will help you stay afloat and take advantage of the most promising niches to look out for. Today we feature 10 New Business Opportunities Every Entrepreneur Needs To Be A Part Of Before It’s Too Late.

10 Hot Business Opportunities For Every Entrepreneur

#1: Biomass Energy

It’s no secret that protecting the environment has increasingly become important over the last two decades. That’s why more and more companies have become motivated to “go green” through alternative energy sources like biomass.

The idea is to convert biological material such as organic waste streams, garbage, and discarded plant materials into something useful like renewable energy sources. They can even be repurposed for manufacturing industrial chemicals and biofuel.

Companies like Integrated BioChem make animal feed out of scraps coming from fruit and vegetable processing plants, while Rwandan social benefit company Inyenyeri creates biomass-based fuel pellets as a clean-burning energy source that prevents the need to harm the environment.

#2: Crowd sourcing Mobile Apps

Gone are the days when you had to hire a team of full-time employees and have them physically present in the same office to work on a project. With the trend known as crowdsourcing, people from all over can be invited online to work as independent contractors and complete a series of jobs with their shared expertise.

Companies like Gigwalk and Roamler have developed mobile apps as a portal for millions of smartphone owners to make money on the side by completing small research tasks like product surveys, collecting pricing information or taking pictures of real estate properties.

#3: Coffee Companions

Java lovers aren’t left out in the cold when it comes to hot business opportunities. Coffee Joulies is one such product targeted at the caffeine crowd. They’re coffee bean-shaped stainless steel shells whose natural properties keep your beverage at just the right temperature for a longer period of time while preventing you from burning your tongue as well.

MummyMug is another innovation that spill-proofs your drink to make it easy to enjoy coffee even with small children around. Using a patented self-closing lid mechanism, you’re free to sip away on your drink without the risk of the contents accidentally scalding curious toddlers nearby.

#4: Coffee Franchises

If you want to take things to the next level, why not franchise a coffee business altogether? It’s become increasingly common for cities and towns to have a high density of coffee shops, and this means that the public demand for their caffeine fix isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

There are plenty of companies out there who specialize in helping interested entrepreneurs take advantage of the many business opportunities found in coffee – do some online searching to find one best suited for you.

#5: Music Mobile Apps

People love smartphones because they can take calls and carry their favorite tunes on the go. This is why music-based mobile apps are all the rage nowadays as it taps into this need, making it one of the most promising business opportunities out there.

Imeem for instance, is an Android-based streaming music app that allows users to create a highly personalized mix of tracks which you can even download to your phone. iPhone owners thirsty for the newest indie music love OurStage, a smart mobile app that allows them to rate the latest music which is then used to make future recommendations for its users.

#6: Cloud Storage Mobile Apps

Anyone who uses a computer for work knows how crucial it is to back up their important files since losing them could spell disaster. This is why online storage providers like Dropbox and Sugarsync are a hit because of the peace of mind they offer. Now that they’ve gone mobile, their apps are a favorite for many smartphone users as it allows them to conveniently access their mission-critical documents and files from their handheld devices.

#7: Gaming Mobile Apps

The enormous success of like Angry Birds has proven that more and more people are depending on their smartphones to satisfy their gaming needs. Just one commute during the rush hour is evidence of the number of people with their heads buried in their phones, playing games to pass the time.

Thus, the market’s huge potential for exponential growth in the coming years makes gaming apps one of the most promising business opportunities.

#8: Looking Your Best

Recent studies have shown that products and services related to personal grooming and fitness have increased even in the face of recession. Surprisingly, it’s becoming more and more evident that people still want to be slimmer and better-looking in spite of the current economic woes we read about in the news.

As such, it’s a very good idea to look into barber shops, beauty salons, exercise programs and anything else that will help consumers look and feel young.

#9: Pet Care

Based on current market trends, people are not only interested in taking care of themselves – they also want to give their pets a little TLC as well.

Shopping malls have become home to a growing number of pet grooming salons and owners are constantly in need of pet need providers such as nutritionists and even kennel builders. Personalities like Cesar Milan have become popular among owners who need a trainer to keep their pets on their best behavior. Thus, books and training courses on the subject matter have also turned into one of the fastest-selling products in the world!

#10: Online Sharing Platforms

When people have unused assets lying around, the best way to make money from them is by renting it out to other people. There has been a wide increase of online services which allows users to loan their cars, bicycles, and even living spaces such as houses or vacation homes. It’s obvious then that providing people with an online portal to do this is one of the hottest business opportunities to look into!

One of the many things in business that is considered a daunting and difficult task for most, is to perfect their company tagline. What does your tagline say about your business? Are your company values rolled into your tagline and is your tagline too weak, too strong or too corny?

A tagline is your Identity, with just a few words, a tagline must be understandable, summarize the product or service offering, build trust, or incite to buy. The right logo and the right tagline can take your company a long way.

In this post we show you how to craft the perfect tagline for your new or current business in need of a creative upgrade.

5 Tips For Creating the Perfect Tagline For Your Business

Be brief

If your slogan gets too verbose or too complicated, people tend to tune out. Or worse, they think you’re trying to hard, not good at communicating (and maybe they’d be right), or unclear about what exactly it is that you do. None of these things are going to help you. That’s why it’s important to brainstorm. Make a list of what you do, the things that define your business and the words you would use to describe it. From there, get clever and respect an economy of words.

Emphasize the right things

Since the 1990s, consumers say the slogans that in some way emphasize community are the most appealing and resonant, says Eric Swartz, a marketing and branding expert. Outline your company’s values, and see how they might translate to a slogan. If you can tell consumers what you’ll do for them and their families, or what you positive contributions you make to the community itself, they’ll be more likely to gravitate toward your business.

Value it

Understand how crucial a role a slogan can play. Because it’s the message you send out to consumers at every visit to your office, with every mailing sent, and every item bought in your store, it becomes the sentiment people associate with your company. It’s one of the most powerful brand-building devices. Along with the quality of service you provide, it defines who, as a business, you are.

Be honest

Overselling yourself is a short-sighted mistake. Eventually, people will come to know you don’t deliver on the promise you made, a powerfully destructive force on your reputation. It’s perfectly acceptable, of course, to highlight the best aspects of your business, but be realistic. You want customers and clients to be wowed by what you actually provide them, not disappointed.

Be original

Because a slogan is such a defining thing, it’s supremely important to have one all your own. If yours mimics another brand’s, you’ll get confused or lost in the mix. Plus, it makes you look like an uncreative copycat. You can—and should—draw inspirations from successful, well-known examples. But don’t let pesky, insidious plagiarism creep its way into your creative process. Make your slogan yours, and yours alone.

So when it comes to creating and fine-tuning your tagline, Just Do It.

With mobile phones, e-mails, twitters, linked ins, late buses, family drama, double booking meetings and a wide range of other “hoo-ha’s” that the business world throws your way, it is hard to not get side tracked only to find that you are running backwards or in circles, rather than moving forward for a smooth day in your business operations.

Here are the top ten ways to spend less time stressing and more time accomplishing your goals for more success in your business:

11 Sharp & Effective Tips To Handle Your Business Better

1. Be clear on why, how and when:

Be sure you understand and are able to verbalize to yourself why you want to produce more results while working less. This may seem simple, but it is highly important, as a way to motivate you to meaningful action. To do something successfully, it must be done on purpose and with a purpose. Knowing your purpose gives you an important reason to make any task or project important enough and a high enough priority to motivate you to get with the program, and get the job done.

You may want to spend less time working so you can spend more time with your family, or so you can finish the week early and have a long weekend, maybe so you can practice a sport more often, so you can compete with greater excellence. If your purpose is one that gives you a reason to get more serious and get things done, you will purposely do what is necessary to garner that time for your personal pursuits.

2. Use a Day Timer or any other Organizer:

This may also sound simplistic, but it is really important. The organizer can free your mind, as it becomes your memory bank. When you diligently use it every day, for everything, you will record your thoughts, assignments, tasks, appointments, shopping lists, and other important information. in their proper places and you will be free to forget it until it’s time to refer to that information. For example your shopping list and the unusual item that you may be concerned about forgetting is of no concern now, because you will rely on your shopping list when you get to the store, and not worry about it until the proper time. The organizer may be paper or electronic. I have tried both ways and both have their advantages, but I prefer the old-fashioned paper variety because it is usable everywhere, anytime.I also appreciate the pop-up reminders of the electronic kind.

3. Keep your To Do List short and sweet:

The “To Do List” can be very intimidating, mostly because most folks put too much on it. Your daily list should have only one or two mission essential tasks for any given day. This is your assignment to yourself. Be kind and don’t make “unfunded” requirements. You work hard and, if you are effective, you should have some time for yourself. You need breaks, personal time and fun time to be more productive. Too much hard work will tire you out, your effort will become counter-productive and you may go nuts besides. I keep a separate “Long term” to do list that keeps me on track for weeks and months. These items don’t become imperative until I schedule them on the daily list.

4. Arrive at work on time for a running head start:

There is a time to work, and a time to play. At work, get to work in an organized, effective and energetic manner. When it is time to play, or take a break, separate from work and be recharged through relaxing pursuits. It is smartest to do your coffee drinking and socializing before and after work. At work be about your business, whether your office is next to the boss’s or in your home. This policy alone will significantly shorten the time needed to accomplish the requirements of the day. When you have met the requirements of the day, straighten up, set tomorrow’s schedule and go use the time you saved for your personal purposes.

5. Prioritize before lunchtime:

It is important that you accomplish an important task before lunch: however don’t rush it. Do it right. Finishing a significant task early will give you the momentum of successful accomplishment to carry you through the rest of the day.

6. Don’t condone overly excessive chit-chat:

Do all the socializing you want in the break room or at lunch time, at the appointed times. When the time is not right, get back into the business mode and back into the office and get busy, purposefully following your schedule. When you are not conducting business, you will find life is more enjoyable if you are sociable and relaxed, then when it is time to work you will be fresher and more effective. Don’t be rude, just be professional and businesslike at work.

7. Automate as much as you can:

Anything that is done for you, automatically saves time and ensures the task will be completed. Make use of programmable coffee makers, auto-tweets, email auto-responders, reminder programs, online scheduled bill pay, and anything else you can automate!

8. You can save a lot of time if you just learn how and when to say the 2 letter word…”No”:

It is seldom required for you to do everything that everyone asks of you. Don’t be timid: Say no to unnecessary interruptions such as the inevitable social visits by co-workers. Refuse to chit-chat on the phone. Ask people to email you, so you can take control of the time and choose when to reply. If in person meetings or phone conversations cannot be eliminated, respectfully let the other person know that your you are busy and your time is limited…just let them know that you have a call to make in 5 minutes, then give them six, using the last-minute to end the conversation. Question people ahead of time about the purpose of the meeting or call, and then you can take charge and set the parameters for it. Be sure and clarify the problem or reason for the contact beforehand and then ask questions to clearly and directly bring out the answer to the problem. If you are unable to help, courteously state the fact, and refer them to someone who can help and politely end the call or meeting. Your time is very valuable. Time is money…time is also life. Your and your family’s well-being and lifestyle depends on you getting your job done effectively. Your next sale or promotion may depend upon your ability to conduct business efficiently.

9. Control Your E-mails before they control you:

This may challenge you, but it is vitally important. Don’t let E-mail control you….you must take control of it. If you get important business email during the day, you may want to set up a special web mail account just for business and then direct all your business E-mail to that address, so you’re not distracted by spam and personal email. Spam arrest is also a good program to get spam under control. Check E-mails as seldom as possible. For openers, try reducing to twice a day; just before lunch and just before quitting time. Be vicious with the delete key, then read business mail at work and read personal email after work. This tip alone can cut hours off of many a worker’s time on the job. If you are in control of your own schedule, or a good negotiator with a reasonable boss, applying this tip means getting out of the office earlier; in many cases, much earlier.

10. Stop multi-tasking (you’re not Superman):

With precious few exceptions, “Multi-tasking” means doing a half-baked job of many things at the same time. I think It is the road to a nervous breakdown and low self-esteem. When you wake up and realize that as hard as you work, you don’t get anything done excellently, it has to be demoralizing. You’ll profit greatly if you use the organizing tips above and take control of your work situation, then do one task at a time, until it is done well, then move on to the next one. A car accident in which someone dies would be a horrifying way to learn that you can’t concentrate fully on two tasks at the same time, like driving and talking on the phone. Multi-tasking could be mostly responsible for the rampant mediocrity in today’s workplace.

11. Outsource difficult and tiring tasks:

There are people who make a business of helping you with mundane tasks, or tasks that you don’t do well. One such business is freelancer.com. Give it a try with some personal tasks first to get an idea of how it works for you. Without hiring a full-time assistant or secretary, you can get good help and pay by the hour. That will free you up to tend to your more important tasks and the ones that you are strong in. Students at a local college or university who major in areas that would help you may be a good source of help, and you could help them earn a little income, too. If you prefer to go international, do a search on Your Man in India, and Brickwork, or the search on the term Virtual Assistants. Outsourcing Success has already made the connections and is ready to bridge the gap and help you get the help you need.

——————————————

SUMMARY

Above all, don’t give up on ironing out the wrinkles in your life. Everyone is different, and every life is different. No simplification tip will work for everyone. Try them all, and pay attention to what works. Before you know it, you will have your life and business running smooth as glass. The entrepreneur life can get easier, with a little diligence and a few words of wisdom.

Stylish attire and up to date fashion is an important factor to a lot of people in this day and age and being stylish and fashionable in sleepwear is no exception! Peter Alexander is a true entrepreneur and founder of the infamous, Peter Alexander Sleepwear! Peter grew the company from a single man operation on a living room table to an internationally recognized sleepwear business and multi-million dollar brand name.
At age 24, having worked for four years in the retail industry, Peter Alexander decided it was time to be his own boss. Identifying a gap in the market when his female friends were unable to find comfortable women’s pyjamas that weren’t flannelette nighties or lacy lingerie styles, Peter decided to establish his own business.

With the support of his parents, Peter Alexander began making women’s pyjamas for the wholesale market, working from his mother’s living room table. He worked like this for four years and in the early days was the only person working in the company. When the phone rang, in order to make the business seem bigger, Peter would pretend to be someone else.

During this time, many people tried to discourage Peter because he had no formal training and no business experience. However when a department store cancelled an order for 2000 pairs of pyjamas, Peter’s biggest setback became his biggest opportunity. In desperation, Peter put a mail order advertisement in Cleo magazine. The response was overwhelming and Peter was flooded with 6000 orders from one advertisement. Since then, he hasn’t looked back.

Voted the least likely to succeed at school, Peter Alexander’s teacher suggested he leave and go to TAFE. Peter didn’t like being told what to do and decided to stay at school anyway. He successfully completed Year 12 and says this is what gave him the confidence to believe in himself and trust in his own abilities and decisions. This goes to show that as long as you believe and have faith in yourself you can achieve anything no matter what others throw your way!

Peter Alexander’s only regret about his education is that he didn’t do a business course. ‘As a result I didn’t make any money from my business for seven years because I didn’t know what I was doing’ he says.

Peter believes that goal setting is a very important aspect to success and people with high goals have far more chance of achieving them, than people with lower goals or no goals at all.

A few years ago, having felt he had taken the business as far as he could, Peter sold Peter Alexander Sleepwear to Just Jeans for an undisclosed sum. At the time of sale, the business was making $6 million per year and growing by 40% each year. Part of Peter’s arrangement with Just Jeans is that he continues to run Peter Alexander sleepwear for five years. He currently manages the company and employs eight full time staff and twenty casual staff

The Ultimate Australian Success story – listen to Peter talk about setbacks and success in this 2 part video
