Read on as Steve Stoute shares his 12 Rules For Success with you.

Steve Stoute’s Keys To Success

1 – Learn to fall in love with the pain of hard work

2 – Know that pain is temporary

Nothing Lasts Forever, pain included.

3 – Every day matters

Everyday is an opportunity to bring you closer to your goals.

4 – Return every phone call

A missed phone call is a missed opportunity. In business, a return phone call often equals return clients”

5 – Don’t let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do

6 – To get what you want, you must do things you don’t want to do

7 – Know what you don’t know

Will Smith once said in an interview, he doesn’t think he is smarter than anyone else, he simply just “understands his stupidity”. That is, he is well aware of what he DOESN”T know because those are the things which require a greater effort to learn and improve on, than what he DOES know.

8 – Respect the commodity of persistence

9 – The more successful you become, the more humble you should be

10 – If you respect someone’s success, do not feel ashamed to imitate their successful behaviour

If it worked for one person, chances are it can work for you as well!! Feel free to tweak and add you own flavor to one’s successful behavior. “The genius behind being a genius is…simply applying what you know to what another genius has already done”.

11 – Learn to tan your business

I encourage businesses to embrace change, to evolve, and become more relevant to this new generation of consumers while staying true to their core brand.

12 – Set the bar high

I tell young entrepreneurs to use the leader in their industry and as a benchmark as they work to create their own brand. Don’t look at what your competition is doing — if you emulate the leader in your industry you will achieve a higher level of engagement with consumers and make their buying experience richer.

Steve Stoutes Story:

Steve Stoute, a great symbol of the American success story, he has a very comfortable net worth of $55 Million. He is an author, entrepreneur, advertising executive and most notably, American record executive. For about 9 years, he served as an executive an many different large music labels, including Interscope Geffen A&M Records and Sony Music Entertainment. While at Interscope he helped produce such huge acts like U2, Eve, Limp Bizkit as well as Eminem’s debut album. He then took his immense knowledge of the music industry and took it to the advertising world. It is said that he was one of the pioneers of influencing the way that blue chip marketers and famous musicians connect with consumers.

Steve Stoute founded the company Translation, which has married a lot of massive fortune 500 companies like McDonalds, State Farm and Hewlett-Packard and famous musicians like Beyonce and Justin Timberlake to name a few. Because of his immense success, in 2009 the American Advertising Federation inducted Steve Stoute into the Advertising Hall of Achievement, which cemented his position as a genius entrepreneur. If that wasn’t enough, in 2005 he became the CEO of a complete line of body and hair care products called “Carol’s Daughter.” Because of Steve Stoutes established connections, he was able to find many celebrity investors like Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige. Chances are, he is still not even slowing down and lives a pretty damn good life. Good for him.

The #1 Guide On Being A Remarkable Human Being

Live Your Own Life
There is nothing remarkable about someone who is constantly trying to be like other people. Be yourself and be the best you that you can possibly be.

Be Authentic
Mean the things you say and do. Authenticity is not very common these days but when it is there, it shines through your words and actions and is very powerful for creating bonds with others.

Come Up With Your Own Sayings
Come up with your own quirky and original sayings. People will take notice and it may even catch on. By coming up with your own original sayings you stand out from everyone else who just uses clichés.

Leave Others Better Than You Found Them
Make it a habit to leave people in a better state then you found them. Happier, healthier, stronger, wealthier. This is a major way of being remarkable.

Help People Without Wanting Anything In Return
Volunteer to help other people out. Give some of your time, money or resources to help a fellow human being and expect absolutely nothing in return.

Don’t Try To Be Perfect
Be creative and abstract instead of trying to live up to other people’s expectation of perfect. You can achieve great and beautiful things without them living up to the general consensus of perfect.

Face Your Fears
People who avoid things because they are scared will never be remarkable. Face your fears and conquer them. Do you think Lance Armstrong would have been remarkable if he had given up cycling after he had cancer?

Take The Plunge
Be that person who does what others won’t do. If others are too scared to attempt something that you are not scared to do, just go out and do it with all your passion and energy.

Question The Norm
Just because something is done by millions of people around the world in a certain way does not mean it is the right or the only way to do something. Question the norm and don’t be afraid to do something differently.

Expose Yourself
Get up on stage or in front of people. Risk putting your ideas and creativity out in public, available for criticism and humiliation. What if Jay Z would have been to scared to perform in public and kept all his talent and art to himself in his basement?

Start Your Own Tribe
Be a leader instead of a follower. Build up a community or tribe of like minded people who will follow you and use your power to make a difference for the better in this world.

Say NO To Things
If something goes against your principles or you don’t really want it, say NO. You might risk offending some people, but most will respect you for having strong boundaries and sticking to them.

You Are Enough
Have the mindset that you have all the assets to be remarkable. You have talent and you have a gift. Share it with the world.

Be Optimistic
Optimism and smiles are contagious. Make the world a happy and positive place.

Be confident
Know what you want and be confident that you are going to get it. I think that all remarkable people share the trait of confidence.

Be Humble
Arrogance and vanity are not traits to associate with people you respect and think highly of. No matter how good, famous or wealthy you are, stay humble with both feet on the ground.

Create something that brings joy to other peoples lives
Art, a painting, a video clip, a film, a song, a poem, a book and so on and so forth. Be artistic and express your talent in a form that it can be shared with everyone without the expectation of getting rich from it. It’s your gift to the world.

Invent something that everyone needs
The disposable razor or a cigarette lighter for example. There could be one little thing that seems so simple yet will make the lives of millions of people so much easier.

Take something that works and make it better
The Japanese are pretty good at this. They took a normal train and change it into the fastest train in the world (bullet train). Take a normal and existing concept and make an exceptional change to it.

Start a movement
People look for a leader, someone who takes charge and takes initiative. Someone who has good intentions and wants to make a big change for the better. Be that leader and start a movement to change something that is not right in this world.

Fight for peace and freedom
All around the world there is so much unnecessary war and suffering. It seems impossible for one person to make a difference, but if everyone thinks like that, things will never change. Stop a war or change violent policies of a country and you will be remarkable.

Preserve our planet
Rainforests are being destroyed, species wiped out, oceans overfished and beautiful ecosystems perish. Make a difference and start a movement to do something about the destruction of our planet.

Help the hungry
There are so many people dying of hunger all around the world every single day. Do something to make a lasting difference. One idea I had was to get every person travelling on a plane to forfeit their meal for the hungry. A combined effort by all passengers would result in thousands of meals a day that could be given to hungry people all across the world.

Push the limits (break a record)
If you can do something that nobody else has been able to achieve, then you will not only get noticed but you will certainly be remarkable. You may just be the psychological inspiration for many others to get past the level that was always thought of as unbreakable.

Revolutionize an industry
Waltz into an industry or niche with a great idea or new perspective and put that idea in motion. If you can improve or revolutionize the way an entire industry does something then you are pretty remarkable.

Tell Compelling Stories
Stories are an amazing way to share knowledge and experiences with others. If you know how to create compelling and fun stories, you can make a big impact on the lives of others. That’s remarkable.

Think Better
Be a step ahead of everyone else. Think faster, better or more efficiently.

Read More Interesting Things
The more you read, the more you shape your personality. The more interesting things that you read, the more likely you are to become an interesting (and remarkable) person.

Don’t Be Boring
One requirement of being remarkable is that you are not boring. Be original, fun and get things done.

Stop Making Excuses
Either do something or don’t do it at all. Don’t be someone who always has excuses to stall doing something or justify why you didn’t do something.

Never Settle For Average
Never be content with average or mediocrity. When other people give up and settle, carry on going and be better than them.

Do What You Say
If people can rely on you and they know that when you say something that you will do it, you are well on your way to being remarkable. If you make a promise, keep it.

Don’t Aim To Be Remarkable
As contradictory as it sounds, most remarkable people never set out to be remarkable. They did what they loved and were really passionate and that is what got them to being remarkable.

Gimmicks Fade
What’s fashionable soon becomes unfashionable. While you might be remarkable for a time, if you don’t reinvest and reinvent, you won’t be for long. Instead of resting on your laurels, you must commit to being remarkable again quite soon.

This is what Seth Godin wrote about being remarkable:

“Remarkability lies in the edges. The biggest, fastest, slowest, richest, easiest, most difficult. It doesn’t always matter which edge, more that you’re at (or beyond) the edge.

Not everyone appreciates your efforts to be remarkable. In fact, most people don’t. So what? Most people are ostriches, heads in the sand, unable to help you anyway. Your goal isn’t to please everyone. Your goal is to please those that actually speak up, spread the word, buy new things or hire the talented.

There is a difference between being remarkable and between being noticed. For instance, running down the street naked will get you noticed but it certainly doesn’t make you remarkable. However, if you were to run naked down the street of big cities all across the world to raise money for the homeless, then you may have a very good chance at being remarkable.

I highly recommend Seth Godin’s Linchpin: Are You Indispensable for a much better perspective on how to be remarkable.

We get it, capturing the essence of your business in 140 characters on Twitter is tough. This is more of a reason to be short & sweet. After searching through a wide array of business Twitter pages, there is a lot of fluff in the bio section that will make most direct their attention back to clicking on their “Home” or “Profile” button and leave the non convincing page that runs with a weak bio behind. Since every word counts, here is how your average human being will react to the following words in a Twitter bio:

“Passionate.” Can you be “passionate” about four or five things? One passion, maybe; four passions are interests, not passions. And really: Can anyone truly be passionate about “delivering lasting customer value” or “teaching small businesses to harness the power of social media” or “providing lasting solutions to common business problems”? Focused, yeah. Driven, sure. Passionate? Save that for your significant other.

“Authority.” As Margaret Thatcher said, “Power is like being a lady; if you have to say you are, you aren’t.” If you have to say you’re an authority, you aren’t. Show your expertise instead. “Speaker at TED Conference” indicates a level of authority. “Social media authority” reads as “I spend way too much time on Facebook.”

“Workaholic.” I suppose the intent is to say, “My nose is to the grindstone 24/7.” If you really do work that much, describe the successes all that effort produced instead. “Workaholic” has negative connotations and implies tremendous effort without tangible results. Potential customers don’t care how much you work — they care about what you get done.

“Guru.” Forget the explanation; I just hate this one. (If you respond positively to “guru,” I would love to know why.) I also hate “sage,” “connoisseur,” “guerilla,” “whiz,” “ninja,” and other allegedly clever descriptors. Don’t be clever for clever’s sake.

“Serial entrepreneur.” A few people start multiple, successful, long-term businesses. They truly are serial entrepreneurs. The rest start one business that fails or does okay, try something else, and keep rinsing and repeating until they find a formula that works. Those people are entrepreneurs. (And there’s nothing wrong with being “just” an entrepreneur!) If you have two or three solid successes under your belt, listing them can be powerful. If not, just say what you do now.

“Technologist.” I found lots of definitions for a technologist. My favorite is, “A person who uses scientific knowledge to solve practical problems.” So: Is that really what you do? Many people who claim to be “technologists” just like cool new products and applications. They’re interested in technology (again, nothing wrong with that!) but they are not technologists. If you use scientific knowledge to solve practical problems, share an example. Otherwise just say, “I love my new iPad 2!”

“Strategist.” Strategists look at the present, envision something different, and develop approaches to make their vision a reality. For example, I sometimes help manufacturing plants improve productivity and quality. There are strategies I use to identify areas for improvement, but I’m in no way a strategist. I don’t create something new; I apply my experience and a few proven methodologies. Very few people are strategists; most “strategists” are actually coaches, specialists, or consultants who use what they know to help others. 99% of the time that’s what customers need — they don’t need a strategist. Be who you are.

“Unique.” We’re all individuals, we’re all different, we’re all unique — and we all know it. If I’m considering hiring you or buying your products, “unique” means nothing to me. Tell me why you are better.

Here’s what catches the eye: Plain language without hyperbole, exaggeration, or fluff.

While expressing personality and flair may work in some cases, if you use Twitter for business purposes plain language and accurate descriptions are what potential followers — and potential customers — really want to see.

Edward De Bono’s 6 Thinking Hats Technique – 6 Different Ways Of Thinking For Greater Results:

You can use Six Thinking Hats in meetings or on your own. In meetings it has the benefit of blocking the confrontations that happen when people with different thinking styles discuss the same problem.

Each ‘Thinking Hat’ is a different style of thinking. These are explained below:

White Hat:
With this thinking hat you focus on the data available. Look at the information you have, and see what you can learn from it. Look for gaps in your knowledge, and either try to fill them or take account of them.

This is where you analyze past trends, and try to extrapolate from historical data.

Red Hat:
‘Wearing’ the red hat, you look at problems using intuition, gut reaction, and emotion. Also try to think how other people will react emotionally. Try to understand the responses of people who do not fully know your reasoning.

Black Hat:
Using black hat thinking, look at all the bad points of the decision. Look at it cautiously and defensively. Try to see why it might not work. This is important because it highlights the weak points in a plan. It allows you to eliminate them, alter them, or prepare contingency plans to counter them.

Black Hat thinking helps to make your plans ‘tougher’ and more resilient. It can also help you to spot fatal flaws and risks before you embark on a course of action. Black Hat thinking is one of the real benefits of this technique, as many successful people get so used to thinking positively that often they cannot see problems in advance. This leaves them under-prepared for difficulties.

Yellow Hat:
The yellow hat helps you to think positively. It is the optimistic viewpoint that helps you to see all the benefits of the decision and the value in it. Yellow Hat thinking helps you to keep going when everything looks gloomy and difficult.

Green Hat:
The Green Hat stands for creativity. This is where you can develop creative solutions to a problem. It is a freewheeling way of thinking, in which there is little criticism of ideas. A whole range of creativity tools can help you here.

Blue Hat:
The Blue Hat stands for process control. This is the hat worn by people chairing meetings. When running into difficulties because ideas are running dry, they may direct activity into Green Hat thinking. When contingency plans are needed, they will ask for Black Hat thinking, etc.

Edward De Bono Quotes To Live By:

A memory is what is left when something happens and does not completely unhappen.
Edward de Bono

An expert is someone who has succeeded in making decisions and judgements simpler through knowing what to pay attention to and what to ignore.
Edward de Bono

An idea that is developed and put into action is more important than an idea that exists only as an idea.
Edward de Bono

Argument is meant to reveal the truth, not to create it.
Edward de Bono

Creativity involves breaking out of established patterns in order to look at things in a different way.
Edward de Bono

Creativity is a great motivator because it makes people interested in what they are doing. Creativity gives hope that there can be a worthwhile idea. Creativity gives the possibility of some sort of achievement to everyone. Creativity makes life more fun and more interesting.
Edward de Bono

Dealing with complexity is an inefficient and unnecessary waste of time, attention and mental energy. There is never any justification for things being complex when they could be simple.
Edward de Bono

Humor is by far the most significant activity of the human brain.
Edward de Bono

Humour is by far the most significant activity of the human brain.
Edward De Bono

I must say, I don’t feel very qualified to be a pop star. I feel very awkward at times in the role.
Edward de Bono

If you never change your mind, why have one?
Edward de Bono

If you wait for opportunities to occur, you will be one of the crowd.
Edward de Bono

In a sense, words are encyclopedias of ignorance because they freeze perceptions at one moment in history and then insist we continue to use these frozen perceptions when we should be doing better.
Edward de Bono

In the future, instead of striving to be right at a high cost, it will be more appropriate to be flexible and plural at a lower cost. If you cannot accurately predict the future then you must flexibly be prepared to deal with various possible futures.
Edward de Bono

It has always surprised me how little attention philosophers have paid to humor, since it is a more significant process of mind than reason. Reason can only sort out perceptions, but the humor process is involved in changing them.
Edward de Bono

Many highly intelligent people are poor thinkers. Many people of average intelligence are skilled thinkers. The power of a car is separate from the way the car is driven.
Edward de Bono

Most executives, many scientists, and almost all business school graduates believe that if you analyze data, this will give you new ideas. Unfortunately, this belief is totally wrong. The mind can only see what it is prepared to see.
Edward de Bono

Most of the mistakes in thinking are inadequacies of perception rather than mistakes of logic.
Edward de Bono

One very important aspect of motivation is the willingness to stop and to look at things that no one else has bothered to look at. This simple process of focusing on things that are normally taken for granted is a powerful source of creativity.
Edward de Bono

Opportunity ideas do not lie around waiting to be discovered. Such ideas need to be produced.
Edward de Bono

Anonymous quote: “Advertising sure brings quick results – last week I advertised for a night watchman–the same night my safe was robbed. “ After watching Don Draper (Jon Hamm) from the Hit TV Show Mad Men and you will soon realize that advertising is based on inspirational ideas. Don Draper will not be able to explain where his ideas are coming from – they just seem to work anyhow! Is it possible to run a successful business like Don Draper?

Running A Successful Business Like Don Draper

Some basic principles never change and here are the 4 most important business principles Don Draper applies, which will always be valid for a successful business:

Appoint the right team players and use their strengths collectively. That is exactly what Don Draper did – he balanced his weaknesses with the strengths of his co-workers.

Remain as flexible as possible. Keep your monthly overheads and expenses as low and flexible as possible. If you need extra employees, rather appoint them on a contract basis and retain only your core staff members on a fulltime basis

Use the opportunity when it arises. Too often we procrastinate instead of implementing an idea with vigour the moment it occurs. It is like the well-known saying – if you snooze, you lose.

Be different and do not be afraid to take well calculated risks. Clients love new approaches and fresh ideas.

On the other hand, there are also a few things we can learn from Don Draper as he provides us with excellent examples of what not to do:

Never put your eggs in one basket. If you rely on only a few customers you are short-sighted. You need to grow your business potential constantly with a variety of customers.

Appoint a diverse group of co-workers with different ideas and allow them to develop as your business grows. The market place change and so is our customers. That is why you need a team that can develop even quicker.

Never get into partnerships or joint ventures with people you cannot trust. This is vital for your success.

Rather be conservative than flamboyant. Think of your offices for example – you can have very comfortable offices without paying an enormous amount of monthly rental. After all it is quality of your work and your ethics that impress your client, not the size or shape of your conference table.

When we start out a new business venture or a new idea, how many times do we tend to think that we need to change the basic rules? We need to think more like Don Draper, despite the fact that he is running a successful business in the 1960 era; a lot of the principles applied by him is still valid today and will remain valid in future. One thing is for sure, despite all his mistakes as a fictional character, he is very successful in business.

Frank Kern – Make Money Online Like The Pros

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-dK5lb8qjs

Frank Kerns Top 10 Tips for you to take home:

Iʼm so damn tired of these dip-shits on the news talking about how thereʼs “no money” that Iʼm ready so shoot the T.V. 90% of journalists and news anchors donʼt make shit for money. They are broke. And a sure fire way to go broke is to take financial advice from broke people.I, however, am not broke. Not even close.

Getting more customers is only the tip of the iceberg to making more money. Sell more stuff to existing customers is easier. And easier still – increase frequency of purchase to existing customers.

90 percent of us focus 90 percent of our efforts doing the hardest stuff possible. For example, to create more (targeted) traffic, look to “new” channels like Bing, Google image ads, newsletter ads (solo-ads), co-op on “thank you pages”. Have you heard of the Bing Slap? No, didn’t think so.

It’s the offer stupid (a Dan Kennedy original). Instead of selling an eBook for $47 dollars – you might want to offer a physical version of your package for $9 dollars shipping and handling plus three easy payments of $30 dollars.

Most order forms absolutely suck. They don’t restate your guarantee. They don’t restate your bonuses. And they donʼt SELL.

Your bonus. Increase conversion easily by simply offering more bonuses. I call this ”bonus stacking”, or “stacking” the cool. Don’t offer worthless bonuses that suck, however.

Increase conversions (ie. make more money) by having down-sells available when people exit the page. There are plenty of exit popup scripts you can offer that say, “Hey wait, would you like to try the cheaper version?”

Increase the frequency of your offers.

Increase the size of the transaction. Get more money from that first batch of sales by simply charging more.

Create a back-end product that compliments your front end product.
