There has been great minds throughout the centuries that have learned the secret of seeing the invisible and creating a vision. In fact, it would be impossible for them to achieve their dreams without envisioning them first.</p>

<h3>What is a vision for success?</h3>
<p>- A vision is something like a mirage in the mind. A state you want manifested into your outer world.</p>
<p>- The idea becomes a conviction after your &#8220;will&#8221; joins in to support the idea.</p>
<p>- Fine tuning and expounding the concept with the will and intentions to achieve the perceived idea are what creates the vision.</p>
<p>The vision is the expression of a much wished for future, that is better than what exists now or of what is projected to subsist in the future.</p>

<h3>Why Develop a Vision?</h3>
<p>- Every decision and choice we make has consequences. Without a clear vision, we fall short of having the quality of life we desire.</p>
<p>- Our visions must be strong and steady in order to manifest what we truly desire. Weak visions lead to an imbalanced life.</p>
<p>- Visions not based on our &#8220;inner self&#8221; are not satisfying and empowering.</p>
<p>- Clear vision leads to fulfillment, purpose, and brings meaning into our lives.</p>
<p>- An unclear vision leads to vulnerability to &#8220;whatever&#8221; happens, staying true to your vision will make things happen better than you ever thought possible.</p>

<h3>Expanding Your Vision</h3>
<p>The initial step of a vision becoming a reality is well, by envisioning. In other words, the focus of your vision has no apparent reality on the material plane. Some people call this faith. Not creating a vision is like walking around with your eyes closed, except in the invisible realm your &#8220;inner eye&#8221; is shut. You cannot go anywhere if you have no place to go to. You must see yourself going somewhere in order to get there! In effect, seeing something in the invisible as &#8220;real&#8221; manifests the energy in your outer world to eradicate the obstacles that would prevent you from realizing your vision. However, be forewarned. Negative visions can manifest negative results as well. People who are always &#8220;envisioning or saving for a rainy day,&#8221; eventually have one. &#8220;When it rains it pours&#8221; is usually the battle cry when misfortune manifests.</p>
<p>If you expand your vision and connect deeply within your inner needs, with the Soul, you will eventually discover an ability to fuse and display visionary creativity. Your relationships will become more sincere, authentic, and energized. Think about it, what do you believe you could accomplish if you perceive it in the invisible, thereby, manifesting the so-called impossible?</p>
<p>A number of highly successful people have claimed to have made a vision board and have recognised it is an important tool for their success. A vision board is usually designed with a big sheet of cardboard that has a collage of different pictures and notes of wants, needs and dreams you wish to fulfill and is usually hung up on your bedroom wall as a reminder of the possibilities that are out there and is also a great visual aid for envisioning your hopes and dreams. This is a great way to reinforce the vision and direction in your mind so that you can be more sure of reaching your dreams.</p>
<p>Cut out a picture of your favorite car, your dream holiday destination, your company logo, a picture of some money etc&#8230; and add that to your vision board. Make it appealing as possible so that you will be inspired when looking at it every morning and evening.</p>
<p>I have one myself and find that a vision board has been my saviour when I lose sight of my dreams and has been a great inspiration for me when I forget how good things can be in life if I just hang in there.</p>
<p>I have my moments of low motivation also, believe it or not, and nothing is wrong with that, sometimes our body is trying to tell us to slow down and balance out a little, but when it is time to perform you have to really have a strong reason behind WHY you must succeed in what you are doing, that will be the key to finding your motivation.</p>
<p>Write it down and create an eye pleasing visual of the reason why you must succeed, and make it a MUST, not a should or a maybe.</p>

<h3>Create a Vision: Start by Dreaming</h3>

<h3>The Power of the Mind and The Placebo Effect</h3>
<p>Without a doubt, many of you have heard of <em>the placebo effect</em>. A substance or some other treatment is given to a person that looks like standard medicine, but it is not. It is really a fake identical looking substance that is not a medicine. The person receiving the placebo is not aware whether the treatment is genuine or not.</p>
<p>Although placebos are not actually reacting to the ailment, one out of three individuals claims to have a reaction to the fake medicine. When a person&#8217;s symptoms change due to this &#8220;fake remedy,&#8221; it is called the &#8220;<em><strong>Placebo Effect</strong></em>.&#8221; However, sometimes the effect can go in the opposite direction and patients believe that the &#8220;fake medicine&#8221; is causing disagreeable or worse symptoms. This is known as the &#8220;<em><strong>Nacebo Effect</strong></em>&#8220;.</p>
<p>What it all boils down to is the power of the mind to heal or destroy through the power of imagination. The NCCAM, National-Center-for-Complementary-and-Alternative-Medicine, a branch of the National Institute of Health states yes, &#8220;there is significant proof,&#8221; that the mind can have a positive influence on mental functioning and quality of life.&#8221;</p>
<p>Carl T. Javert, a holistic doctor now deceased, believed that illnesses were frequently psychosomatically brought about by emotional stress. He assisted women during pregnancy to supervise their problems and difficulties in order to prevent miscarriages and other impediments. With the placebo effect, an individual experiences what they &#8220;expect to happen.&#8221; If the expectation is to feel better or worse, either could occur. The placebo in itself had nothing to do with the effects directly. However, the person&#8217;s &#8220;belief&#8221; helped to change the outcome.</p>
<p>Imagine harnessing that tremendous power of the mind and envisioning an outcome so strongly that it transcends your material surroundings. A very famous actor did just that. He did not have much, but plenty of talent and faith, before experiencing a very successful acting career. He wrote himself a check for $10,000,000 and post-dated it for 10 years later, hoping he would be able to eventually cash it. That actor is <a title="Jim Carrey's Success" href="http://addicted2success.com/success-advice/video-the-other-side-of-jim-carrey/" target="_blank">Jim Carrey</a>, one of the most famous comedic actors in the world!</p>

<h3>The Power of a Vision</h3>
<p>The power of a vision permits us to see beyond our present condition. The power to visualize was given to us for a reason. We are able to manifest our miniature worlds within the colossal world we call earth. Through vision we can dream, create, and manifest what does not yet exist. However, the vision must hold steady to the true and the good. If we want positive results, we must hold true to a positive outcome. The vision must be powerful enough to create a conviction so strong within, that it cannot be shattered regardless of appearances.</p>
<p>Some would say vision is nothing but good ole&#8217; faith under a pseudo name, and this might be true. If one wants to call it faith by all means, do so. Whatever works is fine. Think of your vision in the same way as a diet. In order for your diet to work, you must stick with it. You must think about how much better you will feel and look by staying with that diet, this is the exact same way the &#8220;power of vision works.&#8221; It works through determination, commitment, and faith.</p>

<p>Well this article here explains the <em><strong>6 ways that your brain plays tricks on you to sabotage your goals and dreams</strong></em>.<!--more--></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2><span style="color: #ff6600;">1.)</span> Your brain can hurt your goals by fantasizing too much</h2>
<p>Would you believe that fantasizing is the <strong>#1 way</strong> your brain can unintentionally ruin your goals?</p>
<p>It seems unlikely, right?</p>
<p>The thing is, the proof is in the pudding (or in this case, the research): psychologists have found that while positive thinking about the future is <em>broadly</em> beneficial, too much fantasy can have disastrous results on achieving goals.</p>
<p>Researchers tracked the progress of how people cope with four different types of challenges.</p>
<p>As an example, in one of those challenges (trying to find a fulfilling job), those who had spent the most time fantasizing performed the worst in a variety of critical data points:</p>
<ul>
<li>they had applied for fewer jobs</li>
<li>they had been offered fewer jobs</li>
<li>if they were able to find work, they had lower salaries.</li>
</ul>
<p>Why?</p>
<p>Why could fantasizing about a positive end take a turn for the worse?</p>
<p><em><strong>Jeremy Dean</strong></em>, a psychological researcher at UCL London and the owner of <a target="_blank" href="http://www.spring.org.uk/" target="_blank">PsyBlog</a> had this to say about the researcher’s conclusions:</p>
<blockquote><p>The problem with positive fantasies is that they allow us to anticipate success in the here and now. However, they don’t alert us to the problems we are likely to face along the way and can leave us with less motivation—after all, it feels like we’ve already reached our goal.</p>
<p>It’s one way in which our minds own brilliance lets us down. Because it’s so amazing at simulating our achievement of future events, it can actually <strong>undermine our attempts to achieve those goals in reality</strong>.</p></blockquote>
<p>Our poor brain is thus a victim of itself.</p>
<p>Again, this is not to say that visualizing goals is necessarily a haphazard strategy for achieving them, it’s just that we need to be aware of the dangers of excessive fantasy.</p>
<p>Instead of being entranced with what the future <em>may</em> bring, we need to learn to love the work <strong>here and now</strong>.</p>
<p>Enjoying our day by day progress and realistic ‘checkpoints’ is a much more practical way to create our future; getting lost in grandiose dreams that focus on the ultimate end is not.</p>
<p>As they say, don’t give up on your dreams, but don’t fall under their spell either.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2><span style="color: #ff6600;">2.)</span> Your brain procrastinates on big projects by visualizing the worst parts</h2>
<p>Procrastination, of all of the things on this list, is likely the most recognizable: everybody realizes that they procrastinate from time to time, and it’s something we are forced to battle with every day.</p>
<p>How can we fight this persistent opponent?</p>
<p>Interesting research from Russian psychologist Bluma Zeigarnik (of whom the <em><strong>Zeigarnik Effect</strong></em> is named after) reveals to us an interesting tidbit about the human mind: we are better at remember things that are partially done.</p>
<p>Ms. Zeigarnik came to this conclusion by testing the memory of folks doing simple “brain” tasks like puzzles or crafts.</p>
<p>She then interrupted them and asked them to recall (with specific detail) the tasks that they were doing or had completed.</p>
<p>She found that people were <strong>twice</strong> as likely to recall more detail about the tasks they had been interrupted in than in the tasks they had completed.</p>
<p><em>What does this have to do with procrastination?</em></p>
<p>Before we get to that, know this: in a study by <em><strong>Kenneth McGraw</strong></em>, participants were given a very tricky puzzle to solve with an “unlimited” amount of time.</p>
<p>The thing is, all of the participants were interrupted before they could finish, and then told that the study was over.</p>
<p>Guess what happened next…</p>
<p>Despite being told they were done, nearly<strong> 90% of participants continued working</strong> on the puzzle anyway.</p>
<p>What both of these studies teach us is that when people <em>finally</em> manage to start something, they are much more inclined to remember the task <strong></strong>and finish it.</p>
<p>The Zeigarnik Effect and the subsequent McGraw study assure us that the best way to beat procrastination is to start somewhere… <em>anywhere</em>.</p>
<p>Our brain has the habit of envisioning the impending huge workload of an upcoming task.</p>
<p>It also tends to focus on the most difficult parts or sections, and this is where procrastination begins to set in: as we try to avoid the “hard work”, we find ways to skate around it and trick ourselves into thinking that we’re busy.</p>
<p>Just <em>starting</em> though, triggers our brain in a different way.</p>
<p>It’s the same way that cliffhangers are utilized to keep us coming back to our favorite TV shows; we’re primed to remember the last episode because the story was interrupted, and our brain wants a conclusion.</p>
<p>It’s the same with your tasks: <strong>start</strong>, and your brain will overcome the first hurdle.</p>
<p>This seemingly small milestone appears to be the most important one to overcome if you wish to defeat procrastination.</p>
<p>After starting a task, your brain will be more enticed to finish it to it’s “conclusion.”</p>
<p>You also tend to see that it’s not as big a mountain as you initially imagined, and that the work involved in completing this task won’t be so terrifying after all.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2><span style="color: #ff6600;">3.)</span> Your brain will “abandon ship” at the first sign of distress</h2>
<p>Anyone who’s fought the good fight with dieting will likely recognize this phenomenon.</p>
<p>Envision this:</p>
<blockquote><p>You’re on a diet, and have been doing well for about 2 1/2 weeks, but you know your defenses are at risk.</p>
<p>To make matters work, you’re having dinner with friends tonight.</p>
<p>Instead of the healthy meal you could have made at home, you’re forced to use a restaurant menu.</p>
<p><strong>The problem is this:</strong> At the bar before dinner, you had a little “cheat” moment by ordering snacks and drinks, after all, you’re with your pals tonight, right?</p>
<p>You know that those drinks and snacks, combined with the bread you had before dinner, leave you with one option to stay a bit over your caloric intake goals: you must eat a salad.</p>
<p>The thing is, your brain is yelling out “BURGER!”.</p>
<p>Instead of finishing the day a tad over your 2000 calorie goal, you order the burger with fries and don’t look back.</p></blockquote>
<p>The crazy thing about this scenario?</p>
<p>It’s much more than a momentary act of weakness: psychologists have observed that this is much more likely to happen as a result of you missing a previously set goal.</p>
<p>Specifically, in research by <em><strong>Janet Polivy</strong></em> and her colleagues, people who were actually on diets were tested with pizza and cookies.</p>
<p>In the study, two groups of participants (those on diets and those not dieting) were told not to eat beforehand and then served exactly the same slice of pizza when they arrived to the lab.</p>
<p>Afterwards, they were then asked to taste and rate some cookies (I’m getting hungry already : )).</p>
<p>The thing was, the experimenters didn’t really care about the cookie’s rating, they just wanted to see how many people ate.</p>
<p>This is because they tricked some of the participants into thinking that they had received a larger slice than the others (using framing and false information). This was to make them believe that they had most certainly “ruined” their diet goals for the day.</p>
<p>The result?</p>
<blockquote><p>When the cookies were weighed, it turned out that those who were on a diet and thought they’d blown their limit ate more of the cookies than those who weren’t on a diet.</p></blockquote>
<p>This doesn’t paint the true picture though: <strong>they ate over 50% more!</strong></p>
<p>On the flip side, the dieters that <em>did</em> think that they were in their caloric limit ate the same amount of cookies as those who weren’t on a diet at all.</p>
<p>Truly, our brain is geared towards a call of <strong></strong><em>“Abandon ship!”</em>, whenever we come short of our goals.</p>
<p><strong>Don’t let this happen to you!</strong></p>
<p>The best way to combat your brain from signaling ‘Mission Abort!’ after you’ve missed a short-term goal is to re-frame what just happened.</p>
<p>Yes, you did fall short or maybe mess up this time, but remember the progress that you’ve made.</p>
<p>With the diet example, you could look at all of the “good days” you’ve accumulated thus far: even if you fell after only a few days of starting your new diet, it’s still an accomplishment to have started one and to have set long-term goals for yourself.</p>
<p>Short-term lapses in your end-goal is <strong>not</strong> like a bad apple spoiling the bunch: you have gotten things accomplished so far and you need to stay focused on the long-term, not become distraught by a single mishap.</p>
<p>Research tells us that this is the best mindset to take for misfortune and failure in general: your progress and achievements go so much farther than that slip-up; don’t let your brain convince you that all is lost!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2><span style="color: #ff6600;">4.)</span> Your brain loves mindless busywork disguised as progress</h2>
<p>How fitting that this should be posted on a site that relates to social media!</p>
<p>One of the ways in which your brain continues it’s trickery is through busy work: work that gets “something” done, but not something that produces any measurable results.</p>
<p>In fact, research by <em><strong>John Bargh</strong></em> and colleagues<a target="_blank" href="http://dx.doi.org/10.1037/0022-3514.81.6.1014" target="_blank"> </a>reveals that our brain just <em>loves</em> to become robotic and to even mimic people out of habit.</p>
<p>I shouldn’t have to tell you that this is <strong>disastrous</strong> to achieving long-term goals!</p>
<p>This busy work is often a mechanism our brain uses in cohesion with avoiding big projects (mentioned above): instead of diving into the difficult tasks we KNOW we should get done, we’ll instead float around doing semi-related (read: <em>barely </em>related) menial tasks to make ourselves <em>feel</em>productive without actually getting anything done.</p>
<p>Here’s the thing: you’re not going to build a thriving business or a successful blog with that kind of busy work.</p>
<p>It takes doing the hard work and it takes deliberate practice, there’s no way around it.</p>
<p>The thing is, your brain knows this, that’s why you have to <del>remind it</del> <strong>remind yourself</strong><strong> </strong>that the challenging stuff is often the stuff that produces the results you desire.</p>
<p>Also remember that you can fight that <a title="Procrastination" href="http://addicted2success.com/success-advice/the-6-different-types-of-procrastinators-find-your-type-well-show-you-how-to-fix-it/" target="_blank">procrastination</a> by just getting started.</p>
<p>When you look back at what you’ve gotten done by the end of the day, make sure you’re proud of what you got accomplished, don’t let your brain ruin your goals by diverting you from what needs to be done!</p>

<h2><span style="color: #ff6600;">5.)</span> Your brain gives you a false sense of time.</h2>
<p><strong>Your brain says:</strong> “Relax, you’ve got plenty of time for this project.”<br />
<strong>The reality:</strong> You are straight-up terrible at estimating how long it will take you to finish tasks. You’ll almost assuredly underestimate the time you’ll need.</p>
<p>When they started building the Sydney Opera House, the blokes in charge were all like, “No worries, mate. She’ll be done by 1963 and this $7 million budget should cover things nicely. Throw another shrimp on the barbie.” (Note: I am paraphrasing here.) Then they proceeded to tear through the $7 million faster than a kangaroo chasing a boomerang (fun with stereotypes!). The iconic building finally opened in 1973—ten years late and $95 million over budget.</p>
<p>You tend to underestimate how much time projects will take for you to complete. It’s called Planning Fallacy, and it’s why Afternoon-You looks at the to-do list made by Morning-You and says, “Were you under the impression that I am some sort of goddamn superhero or what?”</p>
<p>Psychologists think your overly optimistic planning is caused by a combination of wishful thinking and how you view similar projects you’ve done in the past, which is to say you subconsciously take credit for the progress that was made but blame outside forces for delays. The last article took so long to write because your computer crashed, your neighbor was playing “Rhythm Is A Dancer” on his damned guitar again, and you got stuck in traffic on the way to an interview. Those things weren’t your fault and won’t happen again, you say. But they might. And if they don’t, other time-sucks will show up to take their place.</p>
<p><strong>Solutions:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Your brain isn’t as bad at determining how long it will take someone else to complete a task. You’ll overestimate in most cases, but it’s nothing compared to the wildly overoptimistic standards you’ll set for yourself. When you need to determine a time frame for a project, imagine someone else will be completing the task and your guess will be closer to the truth.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Planning Fallacy is going to tell you that writing your book will take, oh, maybe two weeks if you stop for meals. As always, it lies. For a goal as complex as that, the only way to get a remotely accurate estimate is to break it into the individual steps it will take to achieve it. Besides, it&#8217;s scary as hell to see &#8220;write novel&#8221; on today&#8217;s to-do list, but breaking it down into steps like &#8220;research alpaca breeding standards for book&#8221; or &#8220;write chapter seven&#8221; turns it into something that&#8217;s finite, specific, and easier to wrap your head around. Make a list. Write down how long each step will take. Add ’em up.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Make a note of how long similar tasks have taken, but don’t adjust for distractions or problems caused by outside sources.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Identify potential snags. Assume they’ll happen.</li>
</ul>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2><span style="color: #ff6600;">6.)</span> Your brain is not good at “winging it” when it comes to planning… ever!</h2>
<p>Every night before I go to sleep, I like to write a simple “to-do” list that I group into two categories.</p>
<p>I put some in category ‘A’ (must be done tomorrow) and some in category ‘B’ (must be worked on or done in 2-3 days).</p>
<p>I do this because when I sit down at the computer to do work <em>without</em> a plan, <strong>I tend to fall flat on my face.</strong></p>
<p>My so-called “work time” turns into the not-so-productive “check email time” or “browse Reddit” time; nothing of any importance gets done.</p>
<p>It seems that I’m not alone!</p>
<p>In research by <em><strong>Gollwitzer</strong></em> and colleagues, the subject of “if-then” plans was discussed in relation to how we set and stay consistent with out goals, and the results are not surprising but reveal a lot of insight into how our brain reacts to planning (and even some great tips).</p>
<p>The thing is, researchers found that not only do well laid plans seem to get accomplished more often, but <strong>planning for failures</strong> along the way (“In case of emergency…”) helps people stay on task under duress.</p>
<p>Let’s continue our diet example from above.</p>
<p>Say you <em>did</em> have that lapse and go over your calories for the day.</p>
<p>Instead of “winging it” and letting your brain crumble to it’s likely response (discussed above), you should have a <strong>backup plan</strong> ready to know what to do when failure strikes.</p>
<p>This could be something like: “If I go over 2000 calories in a day, I’ll finish the day as close to 2000 as I can, and then the next morning, I’ll go for a 15 minute run as a ‘penance’, make sure I eat an extra healthy breakfast, and then continue the rest of my day as normal.”</p>
<p>You are likely no stranger to feeling ashamed about getting off track, we’ve all been there.</p>
<p>Having those “In case of emergency…” plans help us to have a game plan in case we do falter, and including a small ‘penance’ like I discussed above can help us get over it quicker.</p>
<p>If you failed on your diet for a day and then ‘punish’ (again, just with a quick run) yourself by running in the morning, you can go about your day knowing that you <strong>got what you deserved</strong>, instead of sliding down the slippery slope of guilt through the rest of the day.</p>
<p>So remember to include an “If-Then” plan for your next big goal, you’ll be able to beat back your brain’s guilt over slipping up now and then and you won’t have to ever “wing it” in case something goes wrong!</p>

Can you remember the last time you really wanted to do something, but didn&#8217;t? What stopped you, what changed your mind? Was it that voice inside your head? Have you ever stopped to question, who and what that voice is? Fear. Fear is the catalyst for inaction. Fear is the voice that tells us, if we try, the probability of failure will be higher than that of success, that rejection is more likely than acceptance, fear is the impetus that makes us do nothing instead.</p>
<p>In his most recent novel, ‘<em><strong>Aleph</strong></em>’, <em>Paolo Coehlo</em> says that, it’s in fact, not courage but willpower that leads to success. He says that willpower provides us with the determination and dedication required to pursue our dreams and not the absence of fear.</p>
<p>If we look at all of the successful people in the world, Ghandi, Steve Jobs, Mandela, Donald Trump, above all else, they possessed the fortitude to keep going. They all experienced issues along the way, however, when they embarked on their journey, they never anticipated the road to be a smooth one. So any problems they encountered, motivated them more, they chose to keep going when others would have given up, they chose to fight not retreat, they chose … freedom.</p>
<p>Here is a list of points to help you overcome your fears:</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><span style="color: #ff6600;">1)</span> Feel the fear and do it anyway</h3>
<p>You might remember this title from the best selling book by <em><strong>Dr Susan Jeffers</strong></em>. In her book, Dr Jeffers talks about developing assertiveness and challenging our negative thought patterns. She also talks about how we can extend our comfort zone by taking risks. The message to be learned then is that the only way we can overcome our fears is by confronting them. Put your fear aside, and just do it.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><span style="color: #ff6600;">2)</span> Go beyond reason</h3>
<p>I recently watched the film ‘<em><strong>Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close</strong></em>’. Following the movie, I was researching the events of 911 on the Internet, and I came across an article listing accounts of several people who were delayed on that fateful day. People lost their car keys, others were caught in traffic, one woman was late for work because she forgot to set her alarm, another man got stuck on the freeway because of an accident … the stories are endless.</p>
<p>Sometimes we’re not aware of the master plan, the grand design and it isn&#8217;t until some time has passed, when we reflect back, we possess an understanding of why we met someone, why we missed that train or that an unforeseen obstacle or delay was in fact a blessing in disguise or the universe conspiring. Call it destiny, serendipity but regardless, remember, there is always a reason why things happened, even if we’re not aware of it at the time.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><span style="color: #ff6600;">3)</span> Too little, too late</h3>
<p>Eight years ago my father was diagnosed with reflux. After a further year with no resolve, he decided to seek a second opinion. However, it was too late, the doctor diagnosed him with liver cancer which was in the advanced stages, and he was given 2 months to live. That was in November of 2004, by January the following year, he had passed. When my sisters and I were sorting through his papers, we came across a visa application for Burma. My father had left his home town 35 years ago and had always vowed to return. Have you heard the expression ‘too late she cried’? If my father had sought a second opinion sooner or not waited 35 years to return to Burma, perhaps this story would have a different ending. That holiday you’ve never had, the language class you never enrolled in, the friend you never made amends with, don’t find yourself saying, ‘I always wanted to … ‘ instead, write your bucket list and start planning your goals.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><span style="color: #ff6600;">4)</span> Regrets</h3>
<p>If you ever speak to those that are somewhat older and wiser, they will tell you that, in life, we usually regret the things we didn&#8217;t do, rather than the things we did. If you spend your life procrastinating, you will never know the outcome. And remember, no result is a negative one. It’s what you make of your experiences, every moment, every encounter shapes you, bringing you to the point in your life, you’re at now. A wise man once said,</p>
<blockquote><p>“Many of us crucify ourselves between two thieves &#8211; regret for the past and fear of the future.”</p></blockquote>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><span style="color: #ff6600;">5)</span> Finding Obstacles</h3>
<p>How many times have you found yourself making an excuse for why you haven’t done something? ‘It’s too hard … I’m too tired … I haven’t got time?’ Does that sound familiar? We are all perpetrators of that mind set at one time or another in our lives, however, successful people invest the time and effort even when they don’t feel like it. Successful people do things the things that others find difficult. They take calculated risks, they are accountable for their actions, they have initiative are motivated, passionate and encourage others. They weren&#8217;t born successful or ‘lucky’, they achieved their goals through determination, hard work and by being fearless, they have courage of their convictions. They find opportunities … not obstacles.</p>

Instead of wealthy, perhaps all you truly need is to implement a plan to pay down your credit cards. If your end goal is to change your career, for example, the first target would be getting your resume updated. <h2>Entrepreneur Advice</h2>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">1.</span> Fear of the unknown</strong>. People get used to the familiarity of the past and are afraid of anything new. This might lead you to decide to leave everything just the way it has always been. A winner knows that sticking with the old ways will never lead to satisfaction.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">2.</span> Fear to get involved.</strong> If you do not have the habit of engaging yourself, but rather passively undergo what others decide for you, then you will have to create new habits that give you the feeling you are actively creating your life, choosing what you want and making an effort towards your goal.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">3.</span> Fear that others will leave you.</strong> When your environment has gotten used to looking at you as a weak person, undecided, unhappy or sad, then you might be afraid of changing. Maybe you are afraid of losing their attention if you no longer show weakness, illness or fatigue. Is this the reason why you want to keep the status quo? Do you really want to continue suffering from the low vibrations of disease, despair, complaining, just to please your environment, afraid of losing their attention once your are successful?</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">4.</span> Fear of success.</strong> If you got used to looking at yourself as a failure, not capable of doing anything right, then the idea of being successful might be quite uncomfortable. In this case you need to expand the image you have of yourself and start accepting that you too can succeed and be happy, and enjoy abundance in your life.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">5.</span> Refuse to be tested along the way.</strong> Be aware that you will be tested along the way, in order to make sure your choice is clear and firm, that you are sticking to your decision to walk your own path. The firmness of your decision and the depth of your engagement will be proofed. Accept this and move on.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">6.</span> Negative thoughts about life.</strong> Carrying negative beliefs about life will make it difficult to attain success, riches and happiness. Make a list of all your negative thoughts and systematically replace them by positive ones. Encourage yourself on your way to success instead of cutting yourself down.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">7.</span> Refuse to start anything before you are 100% sure to succeed.</strong> You will never have absolute certainty as your mission is constantly unfolding as long as you live. Look at it as a journey. It’s a process, an itinerary, where the important thing is who you are becoming along the way rather than where you are arriving. When you are experiencing more energy, joy, enthusiasm and wealth, then you can be sure to have made the right choice. This ought to be enough to dare take some risk and take some big decisions.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">8.</span> Being oversensitive to remarks from people around you.</strong> To complete your mission and stay your course you need to learn to face negative remarks from your environment. Surround yourself with people who support and encourage you, and ignore the remarks of those frustrated people who prefer cutting you down over taking charge of their own life. Leave their remarks with them, as their remarks say more about who they are than about who you are. Especially don’t start analyzing their behavior, but rather concentrate on your own life goal. This way you are an example for all who one day also start living their mission.</p>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff6600;">9.</span> Thinking you still need a lot of time to prepare yourself.</strong> Make sure not to waste too much time and energy on lengthy preparations and considerations. There’s no need to go get professional help all the time. One day you will have to get your feet wet yourself. It doesn’t have to be perfectly planned before you can get it going. It is practice that makes perfect! What matters is to take that first step and start things up. Your experience in the field will eventually turn you into an expert. You cannot obtain experience through endless thinking and preparing. Concrete action is the only ground you can build on.</p>
<p>Do not be discouraged. This resistance is part of the package. A life without challenge would be quite boring. Make use of your resources to make sure you stay on track.</p>
<p>In any case, you will be enjoying more energy and happiness, now that you head towards your goal and overcome your resistance to change. This energy and joy can be radiated to your environment, and your example will urge others to start looking for their own mission.</p>

To think that only yesterday I created a post about <strong>Steve Jobs</strong>, it is sad to hear that this Incredible human being has lost his fight to cancer.</p>
<p><strong>Steve Jobs</strong> died on October 5, 2011 at the age of 56. He was an amazing Visionary &amp; entrepreneur, fighting a battle with cancer.  He had battled the disease for years, took medical leave from <strong>Apple</strong> in January and stepped down as chief executive in August because he could &#8220;no longer meet (his) duties and expectations.&#8221;</p>

The announcement of <strong>Steve Jobs</strong>’ decision to quit as CEO of <strong>Apple</strong> may, on reflection, not be entirely unexpected, but it draws to a close one of the finest chapters in entrepreneurial history.  The ailing Jobs, who took a medical leave of absence in 2009, said that the “day has come” where he can no longer carry out his duties as CEO.<strong> Steve Jobs</strong> leaves behind a company that recorded a thumping $7.31 billion profit in the last quarter. But his influence on business, technology and popular culture has been far beyond mere numbers.</p>
<p>Here are the 10 lessons that budding entrepreneurs can take from <strong>Steve Jobs</strong>’ stunning success.</p>

<h2>10 Great Lessons to take from Apples Steve Jobs</h2>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2>1. Keep a strict focus</h2>
<p>It’s clear that Jobs was always going to work in the tech space, from when he dropped out of college, started attending classes he wasn’t enrolled in and got a job at Atari.</p>
<p>But although he was working in a nascent industry when he started Apple in a garage in 1973, he always kept a tight focus on the products that would build the business, from the Apple I computer in 1973 to the iPad last year.</p>
<p>He once said: “Apple is a $30 billion company, yet we’ve got less than 30 major products. I don’t know if that’s ever been done before… it means saying no to the hundred other good ideas that there are. You have to pick carefully.”</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2>2. Embody your brand</h2>
<p>Apple has become a company that almost transcends business and tech – it is a popular culture icon and adored by its customers on a level that most other brands can only dream of.</p>
<p>Many of these things can also be said of Jobs himself. He embodies the innovative, cutting edge, design-savvy image of the business. Entrepreneurs can’t afford for there to be any jarring dis-connect between their own image and that of their company.</p>
<p>Above all, you need passion. “You’ve got to find what you love,” Jobs has said. “And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers.”</p>

<h2>3. Surround yourself with the best people</h2>
<p>Jobs may be viewed as a technological genius, but if it wasn’t for some extremely talented allies, it’s unlikely that we would’ve ever heard of him.</p>
<p>He had few friends before meeting computer whizz-kid Steve Wozniak in the early 1970s, who proceeded to build products that no-one could match in terms of innovation.</p>
<p>Although his business skills have arguably never quite matched his design nous, Jobs has been savvy enough to bring in people who offer what he can’t. Hence, Tim Cook, very much a “numbers man” as COO, was in prime position to take over as CEO.</p>
<p>Jobs only took delegation so far, however, when it came to entrepreneurial instinct. “Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice,” he advised.</p>

<h2>4. Improve on what is currently offered</h2>
<p>Apple is known as a highly innovative company that has completely transformed the way we think about entertainment and communication.</p>
<p>But in reality, the business has built its success on improving what went before. It made the MP3 player better with the iPod. The mobile phone was improved with the iPhone.</p>
<p>The story goes that the iPhone came about after Apple execs complained to each other about what irritated them about their mobiles. Jobs focused on what wasn’t working in current trends and overhauled it.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2>5. Keep the customer in mind</h2>
<p>Famously, Apple under Jobs never hired consultants or conducted market research. He relied on his innate sense of what consumers wanted and, crucially, what they will want in the future.</p>
<p>While this approach won’t work for every business, there are several lessons you can take from Jobs when it comes to customers. One is to put yourself in their shoes.</p>
<p>“We figure out what we want. You can’t go out and ask people ‘what’s the next big thing?” he has said.</p>
<h2>6. Learn from failure</h2>
<p>The relationship between Jobs and Apple hasn’t always been a cosy, harmonious one.</p>
<p>In 1985, Jobs had a bust-up with then-CEO John Sculley, causing him to walk out of the company he co-founded. Rather than mope, he bought studio animation firm Pixar before returning to Apple in 1996.</p>
<p>He immediately binned a range of products that he felt were a waste of time and went about pointing Apple in a new direction, focusing on just four products, firstly with the brightly-coloured series of Macs and then onward to the iPod and beyond.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2>7. Think big</h2>
<p>Whether it’s taking an axe to Apple’s product range or creating entirely new categories with devices such as the iPad, Jobs has never been afraid to think big.</p>
<p>Everything about Apple under his command has been geared towards the brave and genre-defining. Jobs’ product presentations, to packed crowds, added a sense of theatre and occasion to the Apple brand.</p>
<p>That doesn’t mean that ambition can be fulfilled without hard work. As Jobs put it: “I’m convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance.”</p>

<h2>8. Demand the best</h2>
<p>Jobs may have a favourable image in the media, but those who have worked under him describe a man obsessed with perfection. As well as thinking big, Jobs liked to be across the detail too.</p>
<p>“My job is not to be easy on people,” he once stated. “My job is to make them better.”</p>

<h2>9. Succession planning</h2>
<p>Jobs’ exit may have shocked many observers, given that his long absences from Apple in the past two years have never been fully articulated, but it’s clear that a solid succession plan has been built behind the scenes.</p>
<p>Cook has already got runs on the board as acting CEO and will be tasked with driving the company forward, with help from Jobs as chairman.</p>
<p>If you fell under a bus, who would replace you? Hopefully, you will have an answer as Jobs did: “My job is to make the whole executive team good enough to be successors, so that’s what I try to do.”</p>

<h2>10. Create a signature look</h2>
<p>Jobs made the black skivvy look his own. He probably has a wardrobe stuffed with hundreds of them.</p>
