I find the only item in the list where I lack is knowing how to sell my visions to others. That is definitely an area that I should look at improving in 2013.

There is another attribute you have missed though. You don’t quit when things get tough. This isn’t the same as knowing when an idea is a bust and it’s time to lay it to rest, but it is more a determination to see an idea through to success or failure. And knowing that failure sometimes teaches you more than success.

I started my first business in 1999 and never looked back. I only took a job long enough to save enough money to go entrepreneurial again. Definitely not the life for everyone though. It cost me my first marriage. Relatives thought I was crazy and irresponsible for not getting a ‘real job’. And the lean times can be brutal. But the rewards for creating something out of nothing cannot be compared. We get to actualize. And that’s a god-like power not everyone gets to share in. Plus the pay raise is far better!
